I recorded these covers as part of Rocktober, which encourages participants to record cover songs during the month of October. It was a bit of a relief, actually, not to have to write the songs myself for a change, but even so, I was fairly exhausted after 50/90 this summer. Therefore, I didn't get as many done as I originally planned.
These are all one-take tracks, recorded live, vocals and instrumentation, on a Zoom H2 360-degree recorder. I played the Heintzman for all tracks but two: the harp for Sorry, and the Roland for Ocean Rising, which was added to Peter Watkinson's brilliant arrangement and performance of that song.
Last year I focused on covering men's songs, but this year I just played songs I loved and songs that were requested. Although I didn't get to every request, these are the ones I managed: Marion's (Unloved), Derek's (99 Luftballons), Una's (The Hideout), and John's (US of FU). Thanks for all the suggestions to those who made them. I definitely still owe George a Def Leppard tune.
